Does MetaMask Report to the ATO?

ConsenSys Software Inc — the company behind MetaMask, doesn’t report to IRS, HMRC, ATO, or other tax authorities. But not only that they don’t — (though we can’t verify this ourselves) it’s highly likely that they also can’t.

Just to ensure that MetaMask isn’t getting any of your data and connecting the data to your personal identity, you can take some extra safety precautions.

Turn off Usage Data collection on the MetaMask plugin

Trezor states that they collect anonymous analytic data from their users.

If you want to turn this off to be sure:

Open the Metamask plugin
Click on the user icon on the top right
Click on Settings > Security & Privacy
Make sure that Participate in MetaMetrics is turned OFF
